Crochet theme raya cards

HR025 Red Horizontal

HR025 Red Vertical

HR025 Pink Horizontal

HR025 Pink Vertical

Pink and red crochet theme raya cards! It is just slightly smaller than the A6 size cards but slightly bigger than the mini ones I've made before :) hehe! I'm pretty excited about this design because this is the first time I get to use my Crochet pattern punch all over the page craft punch by Martha Stewart. It was a bit tricky to use it in the beginning but after practicing a few times, I managed to get it right! Yes!

I just thought that the pattern was suitable for raya cards as the pattern kinda resembled an Islamic pattern a bit hehe! Plus I get to use the crochet flowers that I made before too to match the crochet pattern paper! I haven't used them for quite some time so it was nice to be able to use them for my raya cards :). Gosh, I haven't crochet any flowers for so long! I wonder if I would still remember how to do it again LOL! :D

The envelope for the raya cards were handmade using the scoring board and I made box envelopes instead of the usual slim type. This is because the slim type would not be able to fit the crochet flower inside it nicely. But when I made the box envelope, it fits nicely and no bulging occurred when I sealed the card inside. Loving it :).

Crochet flowers and felt leaves

W015

I had a dream last night. This card was inspired by that dream. I dreamt that a friend of mine got married. I was at her hometown and it was during the time of her wedding. She was really pretty on her wedding day. It was weird to have dreamt her getting married now considering that she had already gotten married years ago. So I have no idea why I had that dream. I wonder what it means. Hmmmmm.......but whatever it means.....it was a beautiful wedding though.... :).

Ok....now back to the card design hehehe. When I did the red crochet flowers previously....I also made these pink ones too. I only bought two color yarns for making crochet flowers....pink and red. So here is my take on the pink ones. At first I wanted to use the crochet leaves but I think they are not that nice coz I'm still not that good at making them....I still need to practice more on leaves. So to replace it, I decided to use multi colored felt instead. And I love how it looks! I can cut out the perfect size of felt leaves for the crochet flowers. It's easy to do too.

I love how easy the wedding pop up cake was to make! Got it done in just a few minutes! hehe! I think the embossed white paper is suitable for such an occasion. The pink flowers was added to match the design on the card. Simple and sweet :).

Crochet flowers and leaves

Hehe! Finally I get to blog about my new experiment with crochet flowers and leaves. :) I've been practicing really hard with this craft for quite some time now. I still have not got it quite right though. But at least I'm better at it now then I was before. All thanks to my aunt......my most patient crochet teacher hehe! :)

I used to crochet the flowers using the wool yarn....which was a bit thicker than the one I'm using now. I didn't like it that much so I changed the type of yarn for me to use for my handmade cards. I love this one much better. :)

I'm still new at this craft although I used to play a lot with crochet since small but I never really studied it closely, I just played with it so to speak......no rules, no specific measurements at all....I just crochet in my own way which was not the right way .......just wanted to have fun with it. But now, I want to do it right. :)
This card I made was just something simple that I came up with to see how my crochet flowers and leaves would look on a card. Nothing fancy in design at all.....it's as simple as can be. :)

Crochet flowers

I was out all day.....didn't get the chance to make any card at all  today huhuhu. But at least I got other important things in my list done and feeling so happy about it. :)

I just wanted to share something I did a while back and love doing too in my spare time.  Crochet flowers! hehe! I learn to crochet from my aunt. She's very good at it. Luckily I have her here to teach me a thing or two about crocheting flowers because I plan to use them as embellishments on my handmade cards.

I also plan on making the leaves...still learning how to do it though...hehe...lots of patience need for this technique. I was thinking of selling them as well on my blog if anyone is interested. I don't have a  lot of  colored yarns to choose from......my collection of crochet flowers at the moment are only in these three colors. Plan to purchase other colored yarns in future. :)

As you can see......these crochet flowers is the simplest crochet pattern I know of how to do..hehehehe. Still learning...still learning.... :)
