Gift cards for school teachers

It's been a long long time since I last took any orders for gift cards. I thought I would never take orders to make them again but this time I had to because it's a special request from a special customer......who is actually my Mom's friend. LOL! Whenever it's for her friends, I can never say NO. ;)

So off I went to start on the project a couple of months ago. It's a lot of work.....120 pieces of gift cards to be made. I was lucky because I was given full freedom to design it anyway I like it and so I immediately thought of using the die cut patterns for this project since it's the easiest way to make the card look fancy in a short period of time.

I also wanted to use the quilling technique since my customer has never seen this technique before and I thought it would be great to introduce it to her and her fellow staffs in school since the gift cards are actually meant for the school teachers. So I just did a simple tear drop shape flower and some frills here and there with a couple of leaves to the design to make it look complete. It's a very simple design indeed.

I took photos that showed the progress of the gift cards I made from time to time.....from the early stages till the very end. I wished I had more time to make mass production of gift cards but sometimes it can bore me if I keep doing the same thing over and over again. So I will definitely try to avoid taking orders such as this any time soon. I prefer to be more inventive and creative in other types of card designs. I miss doing that. Haven't been doing it for the past 2 months now. Been so busy with other projects and also been pretty slow with work because of my ill health. I seriously hope I'll be feeling better in the next few months so that I can be more productive. I'm just glad that my customer is happy with the cards I made for her. It makes all the hard work worth the while. ;)

Colorful quilled gift cards

It's all done! Yay! All the gift cards are all done and ready for delivery. They will be delivered by hand. I sure hope my customer will love them. I had a great time making them. It's so easy to do and it's all about playing with colors.

I wish I had time to do more but time is kinda limited right now and I'm only able to make 25 pieces of them. There is one of them that is soft lilac in color but the color doesn't seem to show very well in the photos.  In the photos it looks like blue. Don't know why. This is always the case whenever I take photos of that particular color paper. :(

My favourite would be the soft blue and the yellow ochre. Love those two color combination a lot :).

Congrats!

Ok...I got carried away yesterday with this "CONGRATS!" clear stamp. I just started stamping it over and over again on small pieces of white paper hehehe......thinking that I would use them someday on any designs in future.

Then I got this simple idea of doing these small gift cards that I can use for weddings. You see, I don't like giving presents to couples on their wedding day. I prefer to give them money instead so that they can use it to buy whatever that suits their fancy . And I would usually put the money in this small gift card and at the same time the gift card acts as a congratulation card that I can use to write on simple wishes in it. So it's a double function card hehehehe.

I also love the fact that I finally was able to use those small peach color flower stems that I bought long time ago. When I look at all the embellishments I have.....I can see that I bought a lot but have not used them yet.....they just sit there waiting to be utilize hehehe. I just have no idea of what to do with them  just yet....hehehehe......but the ideas will come....eventually :) God willing :).

Cute cards

Ever since I got my hand powered paper shredder, I just couldn't stop shredding papers....at least a few times a day...LOL! I just love looking at how the paper shreds and drops into the transparent casing hahahaha.....silly huh??? Yup....I can be so silly sometimes hehehehe......sometimes the simplest things can give me great pleasure. :)

I tried making gift cards for myself to use and sell. My previous gift cards were smaller in size and I've never done quilling on them before. So I tried to make these for a customer of mine who loves to order gift cards from me. These gift cards are so easy to do especially since the design is so simple. And since I got the paper shredder to help me cut the paper......it's a lot faster to get the quillings done on the card.

I don't know about what you guys think of this design but I somehow love the card just the way it is. Just one flower with a stem and two leaves. So simple and cute. This is the first time I'm experimenting doing stems using the quilling technique. I usually make the stems using colored pen. But, somehow it doesn't look as nice, so I tried to make a simple stem with brown paper....and I kinda like how it looks! hehehehe! Simple!

Quilling is definitely a simple way to decorate a plain blank card and make it look fancy with a fraction of the cost because it's all made of paper. :) I'm loving it!
