Taking a long break...

Hahahaha.....please excuse the wordings on the photo.....actually that's exactly how I feel right now......I wish I can take a break and return whenever I want......but of course that is not possible.

I've been thinking about this for the past one week now......due to my poor health condition, I've decided to take a break for about 2 weeks to get some rest from work and get my health back on track. I really, honestly need a break from work for a while. Need to recharge.

So this means that I will be on leave from today on wards till end of this month and I will resume back to work on 1st of June 2012.

Hopefully after this long break I will be feeling great once again and be able to create new things with lots of passion :).

Hello everyone! This is a scheduled post! hehe! :D I wrote this post much earlier on because I'll be away for a few days to go on a mini vacation starting on 30th of March till 2nd of April. This means that Lin Handmade Greetings Card will be closed during that time. But worry not because Lin Handmade Greetings Card will resume back to business on the 3rd of April 2012.

Any emails regarding orders of handmade cards or other craft products will be replied once I get back from my mini vacation :)

Happy New Year 2012

Hello dear readers!

I hope it's not too late for me to wish Happy New Year 2012 to all my readers! Today is the first day of a brand new year for all of us and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude for all your continuous support for this blog throughout 2011 and for still sticking around with us for 2012 :).

Although I didn't blog as much in 2011 compared to 2010, for me 2011 was an awesome year for me nonetheless. A lot has been achieved by Lin Handmade Greeting Cards and I think I've learned so much last year personally. But there is so much more to improve creatively and in business. 

For this new year, I've so many things planned and hopefully be able to carry out each plan that I have made for this blog. One of it is to bring back one of my most favourite activity which is "Blog Giveaways". It probably won't be as big as I did in 2010. It will just be a small one that I do each month for my dear loyal readers. I'll blog about it soon enough :).

A lot of people are still not aware that I no longer take personalised card orders. Yes, it's true. I'm taking a break from taking personalised card orders for a while. Not sure for how long. Perhaps until I am ready to do it again. Truly sorry to disappoint those who are interested in personalised cards from me. I hope you understand. 

I want to concentrate on other new projects for this new year and taking out personalised orders from my work list is a must to make the new projects successful. I hope to be able to make ready made cards instead and hopefully that will be something that you will like. :) Hopefully ;).

Here I would like to apologize to those who's emails or messages in Facebook or in blog I did not reply or replied so late. Surely it was not intentional. Truly sorry. Due to technical problems sometimes these things happened and your messages did not get to me or was not replied as fast as you hope I would. Hopefully this year, I will be able to avoid such problems and things will run smoothly for all of us.

Lastly, I do hope to get your continuous support and positive feedback so that I can improve for the better. Again, I wish everyone a very happy new year and all the best!! ;) 

Personalised cards are now closed for orders

Hello everyone!

I have given a lot of thought and I have to come to a decision to make an announcement today that I will be taking a break from taking orders of personalised handmade cards starting from today till further notice. 

As you all know, I'm also selling craft products and that as well has taken a lot of my time away from making handmade cards. I'm struggling to juggle both work at the same time.

However, I do plan to make ready made cards for sale here at my blog and at Facebook in future. Will be showcasing them when all are completed and ready for sale. You will be able to pick your favourite handmade cards at an album in my Fan page or in my blog and buy the cards that I showcase there.

Sneak peek!

This is a sneak peak of what I've been up to lately. Carving out some words using my beloved craft knife hehehe.....I drew out some letters and formed words on paper using my new lettering template that I got from my visit to KL a month ago.This is the first time I get to try it out. Yes, I'm playing with my new toy and using it for work hehehe! 

I did all this carving for an order I got a month ago.  My customer is so patient with me. She's been waiting so long for this card. Truth is, the card she ordered is almost done, in fact it's 90% done and I'm just doing some finishing touches to it before posting it to her. This is just a sneak peek of the process. I'll blog about it once it's all done and posted.

Oh by the way.......I'm having some problems with my computer again. It's now at the computer shop for checkup and probably have to get it reformatted huhuhu.......I surely hope it can be saved! Currently I am now using my aunt's laptop for blogging and for work. Luckily she can lend it to me.....otherwise, I don't know how I'm going to get my work done with my computer still at the shop. It will probably take days to get it fixed. :(

A little update

Ever since I came back from my week long vacation, it has been all about work work work. Non stop action till now. At the photo above you can see what I'm currently working on.....it's some bookmarks with hand carved names on it and a tri shutter card....plus some other card orders that are long due for delivery. :S

Honestly, I'm still not fully recovered from the week long vacation ehehehe! I'm still in the vacation mood. :P. Trying my level best to cope with work and making sure things are running smoothly. Still, there are some minor hiccups here and there.

For instance, today, I got a call from Pos Malaysia asking me to collect a couple of Posexpress packages that I posted yesterday containing some quilling tools that my customer ordered from me. It seems that now the rules are more strict. No more are we allowed to post craft products using the Posexpress envelope or boxes.  We are only allowed to post items like letters or documents in Posexpress. So from now onwards, I won't be using the Posexpress anymore to delivery craft products.  Perhaps if I were to send cards, it is possible to post them using the Posexpress boxes. But still, I'm not taking any chances with the Posexpress envelopes. It's too risky. Looks like it's going to cost more for my customers when it comes to delivery because I have to use Poslaju  but at least it's safer. :)

For those interested to order my quilling tool, I'm sorry to inform you that it's already sold out. I'm now waiting for the new stock to arrive. Once they arrive I will be sure update everyone at my Facebook Fan Page. :)

Oh...when I was on vacation I did visited some craft shops in KL and one of them was Art Friend at Midvalley. Finally I get to visit the place! Thanks to a friend of mine who was kind enough to take me there :). It's huge and has so many kinds of craft and art stuff to explore. It's different from other craft store I've been to before. I think art students would love this place so much. I know I would if I was still studying....it's definitely heaven! :) 

I had a great time scouting out for new things in KL to experiment with. I also bought some books to learn some new techniques in paper crafting. Unfortunately, till now I haven't the time to go through them. Too busy with orders and stuff and no time to play with my new toys huhu. Hopefully I'll get around them soon. There is so much to do and time is pretty limited. But I'll be sure to try at least one project at a time before the year ends ;).

Craft products for sale

Hello everyone!

I've been getting a lot of inquiries regarding craft products for card making for quite some time now. Before this I've never had the time to spare on selling them. But this year I want to start selling some craft products like craft punch, embellishments, tools etc for card making. Selected items only ya hehehe.

I don't have a lot of craft products in stock at the moment for sale here. I am still collecting some products and also in the process of producing some embellishments for sale. I've already made a new page at my blog under the title "CRAFT PRODUCTS FOR SALE". You can click on the tab to see what I'm selling there at the moment. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't have a lot in stock. But in time I will be adding more and more new items there. 

If you are interested in purchasing craft punch and couldn't find any preferred shapes at your place, do email me for inquiries. I can check for availability of the product in case they are still in stock. All you have to do is just email me your the shapes you are looking for and I'll try my best to provide it for you :). 

The embellishments that I mentioned are items that are made from paper, crochet, foam, felt to name a few. These will be made into flowers, leaves and heart shapes. You can even make requests of the shapes that you wish to buy from me. I'll try my best to supply it for you.

In other words, if you are looking for craft products for your card making needs, do email me. I might be able to help supply them for you! ;)

Temporarily closed

Dear readers and customers of LHGC,

I am truly sorry to announce that I will be taking a break from work for a while. :(  I won't be able to take orders till further notice. This is due to the problem I'm facing with my computer. I have not been able to solve the problem yet and it's difficult for me to work under this condition.

I'm posting this notice before things gets worse. I can't even use my Yahoo Mail.....even my Facebook is having problems....and now I can't even access my Nuffnang account. I have no idea why. Perhaps they are under attack by something huhuhu..... :'(

So yes......we are temporarily closed until further notice. For customers who have already ordered  cards and made payment to me....do not worry,  I will get your orders done for you as promised.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I will update on the development once I get my problems resolved.

Hello there my lovely readers :),

Today is the last day of 2010 and this will also be the last post in 2010 for Lin Handmade Greeting Cards. I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all my dear customers, my sweet fans from my Facebook Page and my loyal followers at this blog who have been supporting my work and giving me so much of help, motivation and encouragement throughout this year. You guys have been so great, I can't thank you enough for everything! Lin Handmade Greeting Cards has evolved and improved a lot for the past one year. I really appreciate it all very much! Truly! :) It's been a great year for Lin Handmade Greeting Cards. 

One of my ways of thanking everyone for their support was to hold a blog giveaway, one for each month of the year. This way I get to give something back to my fans/customers/followers. It's actually a part of my bucket list too. I'm so grateful that I've managed to realize one of my dreams! Yay! :))

Each month I gave away prizes in the form of handmade greeting cards that I designed and produced myself. The number of prizes were determined by the number of each month. Starting with January 2010, which was month number 1, therefore only 1 winner was selected......till now, which is month number 12, therefore there will be 12 winners to be selected to win 12 handmade cards. Initially I gave more than one prize per winner, but due to time constraint and budget constraint, I had to limit to just 1 prize per winner. So sad....I wish I could have given more. :(

As you all know, today is the last day of the blog giveaway. I can hardly believe it. It has finally come to an end. The giveaway ends tonight at 11.59pm. There is still time for everyone to participate. Please take note that, I won't be holding anymore  blog giveaways next year as I have other plans lined up for Lin Handmade Greeting Cards in 2011. Back in business

What have I've been busy doing lately? My answer would be quilled teddy bears!!! Yup! I'm enjoying myself lately making those cute big belly quilled teddy bears for the blog giveaway and also some  of them I'm making for sale.

I think the most tricky part would be the part where I have to make the teddy bear's big belly. If I'm not careful when quilling it, the whole quilled belly would coil out! Then I would have to quill it all over again. That's the tricky part when quilling long strips of paper. It's difficult to keep them together in one big coil. :P

Time....I need more time.......time to make more quilled teddy bears hehehehe......because I love how they look so much! The best part about it is that it's a flexible subject matter that can be used for a lot of occasions, be it love them, baby cards theme, any occasions theme, birthday cards theme and many more. Hey, it can be used as well for weddings :). In other words, you can basically use it for just about anything you want. :)

Yes, I am now back in business. But I am moving very slowly back in business because I am really busy catching up to finish all my pending orders and because of the recent flood ,I've been busy cleaning the house at the same time. I really hope things will go back to normal again soon. 

I still am not taking any custom made orders till further notice. I'm back! :)

Dear readers of LHGC,

I'M BACK!!! Yes....I'm back at home now :). But not fully back in business yet because I've not yet fully recovered from the flood. My studio is not yet operational.  It's still in a mess due to the flood and I'm in the midst of cleaning and rearranging the stuff in my studio. I'm also busy cleaning the house that's been affected by the flood. Lots of mud to clean up inside out! hehehe! I'm very fortunate that my computer is not at all affected by the flood. Most of my craft materials and tools are safe as well. I only had very minor  flood damage on my craft materials....so I am truly grateful to God for that. I still have not yet posted the prizes to the winners of the October's giveaway....huhuhu....I was not able to post them before the flood came. Luckily all the prizes are safe from the flood! I was so worried that it all be damaged by the flood. Thank God all of the prizes are safe and will be packed and posted soon. Please do not worry ya....I am trying my best to do everything as fast as I can. I shall be posting the prizes to the winners using normal mail. Thank you to all who have responded and given me their contact details. I appreciate it! :)

I will be updating here soon on when I will be back in business again. Hopefully by next Monday I can resume back to business. I miss making cards so much!!!

I'm sorry to inform everyone today that LHGC will be closed for business till further notice. I had to make this decision because currently I am not able to take any orders from customers due to the flood that has hit my house in Alor Setar last Wednesday, 3rd of November 2010.

I am not able to update this blog often due to the circumstances therefore, if you have any inquiries, do email me and I will get back to you when I can. Please be patient as I am without internet access at the moment. I am not able to come online as often as I like anymore. :(

QUILLING GET TOGETHER V1.0

Hello there my lovely readers...... :)

I have a really important and exciting announcement to make here today. My fellow blogger Miyyah from Miyyah@Kertas, is holding the first ever Quilling Get Together this October 2010. The whole idea of this get together is for everyone to learn what quilling is all about and  to learn how to quill as well. It's also  for us to get inspired from other quillers and learn from them their experiences, knowledge and skills. This get together event is very laid back, nothing formal.....just all of us having fun quilling together! :)

So on behalf of Miyyah@Kertas, I would like to take this opportunity to invite those who are interested in quilling to join us in this humble event. Even if you have zero knowledge in quilling, you are welcome to join  us and learn from the experts there. I myself will be there to join in the fun! :) I'm not an expert quiller but I'd be more than happy to teach those who have not tried their hand in quilling before. And for those who do not have their own quilling tool, I can help teach you how to make your own quilling tool as well hehehehe! :)

I would also like to inform here that this event is a non profit event. No one will be charged for attending it or to learning how to quill. :) For those who do not have any basic tools or paper to quill, you can purchase them from Miyyah on the day of the event. She will be selling the basic quilling kit there.

I would also take this opportunity to make an special announcement. Orders of handmade cards are officially closed until further notice. I'm taking a break from work for a while. A much needed break actually hehehe. I'm not only taking this break so that I can get some rest but also to get inspired again....I also have to finish making the cards for my giveaway.
