Ribbon heart

AC011

Lately I've been playing a lot with distress ink. I just bought 2 more new colours to add in my collection and I've been having fun distressing card stocks with them. I gotta say....it's a new addiction. Before this, I was not successful in using this technique in my card design. I was doing it all wrong. So I took the time to study it closely by viewing a lot of video tutorials on Youtube and saw how other crafters use this technique. Now that I know how to do it, I just can't stop using them in all my new card designs. Now I wish I have more colors to play with!! LOL!

There are a few reasons why I made this anniversary card and one of the reasons is because I wanted to use those quilled roses that I made using the mini rolled roses die cut pattern. I had so much fun making them! You can see from the photo below some of the rolled roses that I made.

But for this card design I only used the smallest mini rolled roses. The medium sized ones were not used. Perhaps I'll use them for other designs soon. :) I've been wanting to make a tutorial on how I made these roses but I've been very busy lately and didn't have the chance to make one yet. But I will do it eventually :).

I've done heart shape iris folding using ribbons before like the card you can view HERE. I miss doing it and so I made another one for this card. It's so much easier using ribbons rather than using paper. believe it or not....I have yet to try doing iris folding using paper. Must try it one day for sure.

Have a look at the video below to see how the card swings in motion. I love looking at it swing :).

Tool box 2

Alhamdulillah......it's all done! I've managed to get all the quilled shapes done today and it's ready to be posted soon. :) I just hope that my customer is happy with it hehehe. :)

I got this order a while back but had trouble getting it done on time due to my ill health. Been sick for quite some time now. One health issue after another. Currently it's fever, flu and sore throat! :(

What I love most about this tool box is the lady bugs hehehe.....it's a little smaller than the one I did before for my first tool box.....and the best thing is, I glued black beads on it as it's dots. I love that effect on the lady bug. :) And this is also the first time I made butterflies like this. I mean the middle part of the butterfly....a simple technique and I love it...simple to do and cute :). The ones I did before were too time consuming...hehe.

Here's the list of what's in the tool box:

Lady bugs - 50 pieces
Teddy bears - 21 pieces (assorted colors)
Small butterflies - 90 pieces (assorted colors)
Big butterflies - 21 pieces (assorted colors)
Leaves - 500 pieces (assorted colors)
Roses - 150 pieces (assorted colors)

Red roses

HB086

I haven't been doing a lot of cards with quilled roses for quite sometime now. So it's nice to be able to get an order to do it recently. I've forgotten how tricky it is to make these. Sometimes it comes out nice and sometimes it doesn't. So I had to make a lot of it and choose the best ones for the card :).

What I love about this card is that for the first time ever, I'm using a gold colored card. Recently I found a really nice gold metallic paper stock and it really caught my eye....I just had to buy it! I've seen some gold paper stock before but I like this one the best...and it's really great for making cards with.

There isn't any pop up designs for this card....so I simply decorated inside the card with tiny red hearts around it. A simple touch. I also drew with a black pen swirling lines at the side of the card.....loved playing with that hehehe.....just simple swirling lines for the roses. I should practice more with the drawing....no matter how nervous I always get when doing it. Afraid of spoiling the card in the process....hehe...well, at least I tried ;).

Prizes posted!

Guess what? I've just finished making all the cards for last month's giveaway yesterday.......yup....I'm super  duper slow these days....I can't make them fast enough. But then again.....the cards are in fact quite a handful to make and I tried my level best to get them done as nicely as possible. I know it's super duper late......but I'm glad I got them done and posted all of them today to all the winners. I hope all the cards arrive safely to them.....I always worry about the delivery hehehe.

Now, I will be concentrating on the next giveaway.....thank God this time around, the design is less complicated hehehe.. Soon, as months pass by, I will need to make more and more prizes for winners. I really have to figure out how to do it as it will be really time consuming. I hope I will come up with good ideas soon :). Please pray for me ya! I really want to make my wish come true!

At the same time, I'm also busy thinking of what I should make for the July 2010 Blog Giveaway. I still don't have any idea yet what kind of design that I want to do. LOST!!!! But I need to think of a design latest by this week and start doing the giveaway next week on Monday....I hope God will give me some inspiration soon hehehehehe! ;) This giveaway thingy is part of my bucket list and I really want to make it work.....it's something that I've wanted to do for a long time and I hope things will run smoothly until end of this year. :)

Quilled roses

Quilled roses card

I'm so happy that finally I managed to prepare the card that I promised to make for the June 2010 Blog Giveaway. A quilled flower theme pop up card!  I'm so happy with how it turned out. :)  At first I had a hard time figuring what color combination I was going to use. In the end I chose the pink and green combo. :)  For the quilled flower theme.....I wasn't so sure of what type of quilling flowers I should make. Then I thought of the quilled roses...and so I practiced and practiced to get that same size of roses so many times, my fingers hurt....huhuhuhu. But at last, I got them figured out. So happy about that! Yay!

This a square card with a lovely apple green color. I love this color. So fresh and bright looking! I love how it looks when combined with the white doily and pink combo. I also made a simple pop up inside the card. Flowers weaved at the pop up :). Very simple...very cute heheheh. As mentioned before.....there are no wordings for this card. It can be used for any occasion. :)

Paper quilled roses.....

More quilling experiments today! Yay! hehehehe! Today I tried my hand at quilling roses. I tried doing it by just following instructions I see on quilling websites but somehow it didn't turn out right. I wasn't sure what I did wrong.....no matter how many times I did it, I couldn't make it look like  the quilling roses I saw online.  But since I'm so determined to find out how to do it....so I kept googling more about it.

Finally I found help in Youtube ...... I searched in Youtube for video tutorials on how to make quilled roses.....and luckily there was one that I find quite easy to understand and it was the exact type of rose pattern I was looking for. There were many types of tutorials on how to roses....but there was one particular video that I love the most. So, after several trials....I managed to get it right! I am so happy about it hhehehe! Now I know what I did wrong....hehehe.....LOL!
